Farley Named President and CEO of Entellus Medical®

MINNEAPOLIS – (April 27, 2010) – Entellus Medical, a Minnesota-based medical technology company, today announced that Brian E. Farley joined the company as president and chief executive officer. Farley, a seasoned medical device executive and a proven leader with early stage and established medical device companies joined Entellus as an independent board member on the Entellus Medical board of directors in fall of 2008.

Farley was named president and CEO after Entellus Medical Co-Founder Thomas Ressemann decided to step down from that position last November. Ressemann will focus on the company’s future business development as chief business development officer.

“Brian brings a wealth of operating experience to Entellus Medical at a time when the company can benefit from that experience. I look forward to working closely with Brian in my new role,” said Ressemann.

“Entellus Medical achieved ambitious milestones under the leadership of Tom Ressemann and in his new role we will continue on that path,” said Josh Baltzell, managing director at Split Rock Partners and member of Entellus Medical board of directors. “The company is now poised for a new level of growth under the experienced guidance of Brian Farley and we are very excited to have him at the helm.”

Prior to joining Entellus Medical, Farley was president and CEO of VNUS Medical Technologies, Inc. He joined VNUS in 1995 as the first employee and led the company to become the market leader in the minimally invasive treatment of venous insufficiency. Under Farley’s leadership VNUS completed a successful IPO in 2004 and in 2009 was named by Forbes.com as one of the 100 most trustworthy companies in the U.S as it grew to more than $100 million in annual sales. VNUS was sold to Covidien in 2009 for more than $500 million.

Prior to VNUS, Farley held various management and executive positions in research and development, clinical research and business development for Guidant Corporation, a medical device company, and in the medical device division of Eli Lilly and Company, a diversified healthcare company. Farley is an inventor with more than 30 patents and holds both a B.S. in Engineering and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering with a Biomedical Engineering major from Purdue University. Farley is also a director of Neuronetics, Inc. a private medical technology company and is a business advisor to Cardica Inc (CRDC: Nasdaq).
