Split Rock promotes David Allison to Principal
Minneapolis, MN and Menlo Park, CA, February 19, 2013 – Split Rock Partners, a venture capital firm focused on software, Internet services, and healthcare is pleased to announce that David Allison has been promoted to Principal in its Menlo Park office. David has been with the firm since 2009 and has focused on investments in the healthcare sector.
In the past three years, David’s role within the firm has grown to include sourcing direct and secondary investments, co-sponsoring portfolio investments and portfolio management. David is currently a board member at EBR Systems, and actively supports Split Rock portfolio companies, including Histogenics, Holaira, DFine, Transcend Medical, Twelve and RF Surgical.
“David has been a key member of the Split Rock Team since joining in 2009. We are excited to have him on our team and look forward to his expanded role at the firm,” said Josh Baltzell, a managing director with the firm.
David has more than seven years of venture investing experience, having joined Split Rock Partners from PTV Sciences, a healthcare venture capital firm in Austin, TX. Previous affiliations include The Cleveland Clinic and SurModics, both in research and development roles. David holds an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Iowa and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Rice University.
