Code42 Recruits Amazon.com VP as Chief Financial Officer
Jason Bristow, Amazon.com vice president and treasurer, to lead global financial operations
MINNEAPOLIS – May 19, 2014 – Code42, the leader in endpoint data protection and management, today announced the appointment of Jason Bristow as its chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately. Bristow joins Code42 from Amazon.com, where he served as vice president and treasurer. He will report directly to Code42 Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Matthew Dornquast.
At Code42, Bristow will oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations and play an integral role in driving Code42’s long-term vision to support its continued strong growth. More than 30,000 businesses—including brand names such as Adobe, Mayo Clinic, Procter & Gamble, SUPERVALU and NASA—trust Code42’s CrashPlan and SharePlan solutions to protect, manage and share their data continuously and securely.
“Code42 thrives as a technology company because we inspire the best in each other,” said Dornquast. “Our customers deserve the best, and our employees deserve leaders who not only point which way to go, but roll up their sleeves to help. The Amazon customer-centric culture and Jason’s mid-western sensibilities were front and center in my interactions with him. I am thrilled he is returning to our Minnesota tech scene, bringing extraordinary skills and know-how to Code42 as we enter this critical growth phase.”
Bristow brings to Code42 nearly two decades of experience as a senior finance executive. As a member of the Amazon.com leadership team from 2003-2014, he was an important part of the company’s dramatic growth and expansion. Prior to his time with Amazon, Bristow held senior financial roles at General Electric, both domestically and internationally.
“As workforces go mobile with even more devices and the risk of data loss heightens, data governance presents a tremendous market opportunity,” said Bristow. “Some of the biggest brands in the world have widely adopted Code42’s data protection and management platform, which supports employees wherever and however they work. Code42’s strong culture, unmatched product suite and large, growing enterprise customer base all point to a future in which Code42 becomes a household name.”
